Brendan Monk is a partner at Bitton Monk LLP. He practices in criminal law at both the trial and appellate level.

He appears regularly at all levels of court in Ontario and defends individuals on all forms of criminal charges, with a particular emphasis on sexual assault, drug, and firearms offences.

Brendan is deeply committed to ensuring that individuals charged with criminal offences are treated with dignity, respect and fairness. He is a zealous advocate for his clients, whether that be at trial or on appeal and works closely with them to ensure they are informed and involved at each stage of the criminal process.

Brendan was born and raised in Toronto. He earned a Hons. B.A. from the University of Toronto, specializing in Political Science with a minor in Philosophy. He obtained his J.D. from Osgoode Hall law school. Before founding Bitton Monk LLP, he articled at a prominent Hamilton criminal defence firm. Once called to the bar, he started his law career in Hamilton, before moving to a leading Toronto criminal defence firm where he developed a busy practice litigating serious cases at both the trial and appellate level. He speaks French and can consult with French-speaking clients in their first language.
